My daughter is Captain of the Rifle Team at school this year and decided to have a Karaoke Party for her team. I remembered seeing some awesome cupcakes on Martha Stewart (which I pinned on Pinterest) and decided this would be a good time to make some. The photo above is my version. The one below is from Martha Stewart's website.
I love the little popcorn looking cupcake holders, but I didn't have time to order any, so I just made my own. I found some cups that weren't actually baking cups, but they looked like they would do the trick and I was right. I got them at Party City.
I bought some real popcorn boxes at the grocery store, because I also wanted to serve popcorn to the kids.
I found a font that looked similiar to the same as the one on the popcorn boxes I purchased and printed my own little sleeves for the cupcakes. It was fairly simple to get the size right and print my own. Click here to download my version.
We took the little miniature marshmallows and used a knife to make imprints on them that looked like popcorn. I kind of pinched them at the same time to make them bulb out a little bit, too.
Then I used a bit of food coloring spray to add "kernels" to the popcorn.I bought some real popcorn boxes at the grocery store, because I also wanted to serve popcorn to the kids.

Then we just 'popped' those little marshmallows onto the top of the iced cupcakes and slipped the little sleeves onto the cups and voila!
They actually tasted pretty good, too!
