Crafts from the Past -01

I've got this china cabinet that belonged to my husband's mother. She passed away when he was just 18 years old, so he kind of wanted to hold on to something that was hers. When we moved into our house a few years ago, we unfortunately broke some of the glass on the doors. After that, I tried to do something creative to it. Last year at Christmas, I made inserts wrapped with bright candy-cane striped wrapping paper to put in the doors. It was festive. This year, just before Thanksgiving I decided to make chalkboard inserts. I took 1/4" plywood cut to fit the doors and painted them with chalboard paint. I love them. We just draw or write whatever suits us at the moment. This photo is a random shot from recently. (Yes, that is a drawing of a flying saucer....it just struck me one day to draw it - don't know why.)
